Feeds For Other Networks
Hello!
This post explains the NET275 fido via internet service feed CRP program for nodes outside of
NETs 275 and 271.
- General Informtion
- Our services at this time are free for a flat rate draw. We reserve the right
to swap to another feed should situations merit it, but will other than a
temporary outage, maintain feeds at a close level to a major backbone access
provider as long as we can afford it.
- Flat rate is defined as the cost for each person who connects directly to us.
No charge is added for the number of nodes fed from that connection by us.
(Currently free)
- Charges and fees (When applicable)
- The charge per year (currently free) is subject to change but will not be
changed during timeframes already paid for. However be advised, we do not
accept contracts in excess of 1 year, without prior arrangement direct to the
NC of NET 275. (Existing payments over 1 year as of AUG98 will be honored).
- The current fee is set to cover from 1JAN-31DEC of each year. Those with
existing contracts already paid for, will be honored to the time of expiration
(IE: 12 months from date of feed start) and then recieve a pro-rated bill until
their schedule matches a 'pay in DEC for services from 1JAN-31DEC'. See below
for the schedule of pro-rating.
- New sites just considering us as a site for feeds, we charge yearly and if
you join 1JAN-31MAR its a full years fee. If you join 1APR-30JUN it's 3
quarters for the remainder of the year. If you join 1JUL-30SEP it's 1/2 for
the remainder of the year. If you join 1OCT-31DEC it's 1 quarter for the
remainder of the year.
- Once we have you on a yearly schedule, fees are due in DEC for the
following year. If we raise fees, you will be notified in NOV and be
given at least 4 weeks to change feeds if you do not like the change.
- NET275 does not offer refunds as the charges are based on prepayment.
- Termination of Existing Contract
- Should a direct downlink from our fido feed be determined to be feeding other
sites, and charging more than needed to make up the yearly fee CRP (or in other
words, making a profit) the fees will be inflated to a price to be determined
at that date as it changes 'in spirit' our contract.
- The exception to charging more than a total aggregate of (insert current
price) for feeds from our feed is limited to a net who as part of their local
CRP, may charge for such common things as: Cost to NEC for ISP services; Cost
charges for extra phonelines for NEC; Maintenance of a network mailer machine;
or other accessory fees common within many local nets. These do not constitute
'making a profit'. Such fees are only proscribed from being charged to
downlinks outside of the local net of a site directly linking to us.
